Shenzhen Asian Culture Society Holds A Night Of Celebration, A Night Of Appreciation!

If you made it to the SACS in the City event you already know what an amazing night it was. If you were not able to attend you truly missed a very special occasion. We had over 180 people come to the party and from the feedback we received they all had a wonderful time.

I would like to take the opportunity to acknowledge the talented, tireless but never humorless team that was responsible for this event.

Petra Klingler, Shierley Koval and Tina Hui Liu and a tireless team of volunteers transformed the Top Restaurant. The decorations were outstanding!  Alan Yulen Chen brought our stages to life with spectacular entertainment which include Sichaun Opera Face Changing, Chinese Acrobatics culminating in a Lion Dance. Thank you, Alan, for finding the talent and keeping it all on track.

Gretchen Bear, Virlane Torbit, Stephanie Cooley, Flora Huang, Frauke Staud, Lisabella Zhang, Lynn Velez and Yelena Hoffman were responsible for the business end of event from ticket sales, to membership to name tags, to keeping the finances straight. It was outstanding! WE DOUBLED OUR MEMBERSHIP ON THIS EVENT ALONE!!!

Glenn Phillips handled our technical issues and overcame all sorts of challenges quickly and creatively.

Missy Nielsen prepared our slide shows which showcased all of the wonderful adventures we have had in the last year. I had no idea how much we have accomplished until I saw Missy’s creative production.

Lisabella Zhang was charged with the responsibility of making sure all of the Food and Beverage flowed throughout the night.

Sue Peskett single handedly coordinated all of the details for our Annual General Meeting which took place just before our party. We are now official and even have a constitution. Well done!

Rainer Saud, Kennard Nielsen, Missy Nielsen, and Sue Peskett greeted our guests and led them to our “photo opportunity” which was manned by Mark Peskett. The photos will be on the website shortly. Once they are up, I will send you a note so you can go have a look.

The Top Restaruant led by Sandy Wang and her team of chefs and wait staff were patience personified. I can not recommend them highly enough for your future special celebrations.

Our ticket team of Gretchen Bear, Stephanie Cooley, Virginie Delelis, Lisabella Zhang, Missy Nielsen, Sue Peskett, Shierley Koval, Pramond Ghirmire, Marcus Maher and Sandy Wang did such a good job, we sold out in advance.

We were sponsored by Torres Wines, Shenzhenhao.com and In Restaurant who all generously helped us make the evening possible.

In addition to our members who volunteered their time, we also were greatly assisted by personal staff such as drivers and Ayis who worked over the weekend to help us. They too were vital and most appreciated.

I look at this list and amazed just how many people had a hand in producing this event. It was a huge endeavor and could not have happened without the dedication of the SACS team. I thank you all for your hard work.

We also thank all of our guests who shared the evening with us. it truly was…. A Night of Celebration, A Night of Appreciation!
