Shenzhen Dragons Clash With Shekou Pythons
A quick reminder about the rugby and BBQ in Shekou this Saturday. Please reply before Thursday if you plan to attend. We need to know numbers in order to organise food and beer (No reply = no food or beer). Kick off is 3 p.m. in Shekou. Let’s get there at 2:30 so we don’t waste any playing time. Let’s meet at Futian McCawley’s at 1:30 p.m. and share cabs from there. Training, as per usual, is this Thursday night at 8:30 pm at Futian Stadium. Please pay for your new kit; kit will not be handed out until payment is made.
I missed last week but I’ve heard lots of great reports, lets keep it up fellas and keep the numbers and momentum growing. I met a Guangzhou Ram boozing in Shekou this Saturday night, boasting about how many new guys they have and how they are not leaving Shenzhen without the Guangdong Cup. I told him a thing or two about you boys and how things aren’t the same in Shenzhen anymore; rugby is no longer a new sport for us and we’re no longer a novice team. Yeah, I’d had a few beers and that went on for quite a while. He left shortly after and as I was chasing his taxi down the street shouting obscenities I realized that I left my Tsingtao at the bar. I never got to tell him about Johnny’s new and improved abs. Next time.
Gaelic football is starting tonight at 8 p.m. at Futian Stadium and every Monday from here on. Some of you have played before some haven’t. I would recommend making it a regular thing. Great chance to get involved with another great Shenzhen sporting club, good for fitness, and great for ball handling skills. Also, the Shenzhen Celts are hosting the All China Gaelic games here in Shenzhen in March (Beijing, Shanghai, Dalian, Suzhou, Changsha, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Shenzhen will be participating) . This will be the biggest event on record.
