Iain Watt – Minister Counsellor (Education), Australian Embassy Beijing
Iain has been a key player in the international dimension of Australian education and training for the past 15 years. His current posting to Beijing as Minister-Counsellor (Education ) – commenced in February 2008 – is his third, following stints at counsellor level in Taipei (1995-98) and Beijing (1998-2002). Iain was Director, International Development and Cooperation at the Australian National University from 2004-2007. He has managed several Branches within the International Education Group of the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations, and has been an important contributor to international education policy development since 1992.
