New Taxi Fee of 2rmb

So another surprise in the Shenzhen Taxi Saga, this bloody 2RMB “Fuel surcharge fee”.

So my dig is this: the government bent over to everybody’s cry about the taxi being too expensive so they reduced the flag fall from 12.5rmb for 3000m to 10rmb for 2500m. This was great for short trips but- it turned about to be 10-25% MORE expensive over longer distances. Now, with no warning at all, they have added this 2 RMB “Fuel Surcharge.”

So NOW, the flag fall is as follows 12rmb: for 2500m and still 10-25% more expensive over longer distances.

Who has gained here? The People? The Taxis? Or Someone Else?

Just for everyones own good please take note of this. IF THE DRIVER CANNOT PROVIDE A 2RMB FAPIAO, YOU DON’T HAVE TO PAY HIM, THAT’S THE LAW.

Red Cabs are 2RMB fuel charge and green ones are 1RMB. There are no mention of yellow taxis (I think yellow taxis are phased out now).
