Chinese Ink Painting Class in SWIC Forum
Chinese Ink Painting Class taught by artist Leah Cai
Leah is a local artist who taught this class. She does commercial graphic art work and teaches.
Chinese Ink Painting is a simple process of ink and water color using layer upon layer to create beautiful finished pictures. The pictures will last almost forever and can be framed or made into Chinese scrolls (easier for travel).
When I was painting my (green) leaves and the teacher said “cover them with orange”, I almost fell off my chair – Orange? But then, it’s only paper and ink – yes?
So I did it. It was incredible the way it made the picture “pop.”
Classes start this Friday at Coastal Rose Garden #102B (next to Trader Zhou’s) and run to the end of May/early June.
Leah will introduce the materials (ink, paints, brushes, paper, equipment) and painting technique. We will take a trip to Book City for materials.
You can create your own artwork or use any of our books for inspiration. This class will focus on the painting technique and not creation of artwork per se.
Class is Friday 9-11 am for 12 sessions
Maximum 10 participants
Session Cost <5 people 1,500 RMB 8-10 people 1,000 RMB
Materials cost about 100 RMB
