Sailing School News of Gulf Charters Thailand—Race Crew Wanted!

There are endless options when it comes to fulfilling your nautical desires. Some sailors choose to spend a day in a dingy while others set their sights on distant shores and plan long range cruising adventures. Most long range cruising sailors find pleasure in the solitude of the sea and for them getting away from it all is what it’s all about. On the other end of the spectrum is another breed of sailor, the racing sailor, who relish the pressures of a crowded start line and close quarter sailing to the windward mark. The racing sailor gets the chance to test his/her skills and strategies against others while pushing the boat and crew to the limits in an effort to claim the top honors due the winner. The focus and skill set of a racing sailor and crew are often at odds with that of the cruising yachtsman who may be more concerned with avoiding breakage and minimizing wear and tear on his yacht.

As a novice sailor, exposure to a variety of sailing styles can be helpful in an educational sense as it allows the chance to learn a variety of techniques and practices. Although our training program is more tailored towards the cruising/charter yachtsman, now is a great chance to learn a bit more about ocean yacht racing with hands-on racing experience.

Sailors who want to live and breathe the challenges and excitement of a world class yacht racing event can attend our sailing school courses later this month. The April 20-May 04 Zero to Hero program will include the Top of the Gulf Regatta, the largest yachting event in the region. Students who participate in this annual event will benefit from onboard instruction and will be learning a lot about yacht racing and, with a bit of luck, the thrill of victory. We have run sailing courses during this event in the past and it has been of great benefit to participants as well as a lot of fun. “Learn to Sail” now with the Gulf Charters Sailing School and enjoy a bit of competition while you’re at it! Highly recommended.

If you have already completed our training program or would just like to Join-in for the Top of the Gulf Regatta portion of our April/May sailing course, we still have space available at this time. Please contact us for additional TOG Regatta Join-in details.
