Queensland Ready for Shanghai World Expo 2010
When the Expo kicks off, look out for a number of Queensland elements and products in the Pavilion and VIP suites such as sustainable lighting and marble sourced from Cairns.
The VIP area’s reception is aptly-named ‘The Daintree’ to honour the world’s oldest living rainforest situated in the heart of Far North Queensland; and Queensland-supplied ice cream, coffee and cookies will be available from the retail section.
Visitors are also set to be captivated by Brisbane-based Urban Art Projects’ sculptural public art evoking distinctly Chinese themes at the eight main entrances to the Expo site.
Queensland’s involvement at Expo aims to deliver commercial outcomes in sectors including tourism, education, science and technology in addition to creative industries including architectural and urban design, professional services, clean energy and resources.
