Matthew Walsh from Aconex will present on how a robust and secure online document management system can greatly improve the efficiency in managing high-value projects in these industries. Because such high-value projects typically entail millions of documents and thousands of revisions and updates, a sound online document management system is critical to the success of such projects. Instead of managing a major construction project the old-fashioned paper trail way, implementing an IT document management and work collaboration system can save time and additional costs (eg. paper, print, courier costs), and mitigate any potential legal disputes with a reliable and secure online document audit trail.
Angus Wippell from Bovis Lend Lease will give a summary of how IT has been used in the construction industry over the last 20 years; how IT is changing the delivery method for developers and project managers; where China is at with the use of technology in the management of projects; the benefits of the use of systems such as project web and Aconex in the management of projects; and the challenges in China for using such systems for controlling project documentation in delivery of projects.
