The Honourable Kristina Keneally MP
Minister for Redfern Waterloo
Member for Heffron
Kristina Keneally MP is the Premier and Minister for Redfern Waterloo in the NSW Government, and the Member for Heffron in the NSW Parliament. She has previously held the portfolios of Planning, Redfern Waterloo, Infrastructure, Ageing and Disability Services.
Kristina was elected to Parliament as the Member for Heffron on 22 March 2003.
In 2 April 2007, Kristina became Minister for Ageing and Minister for Disability Services. As Minister, she activated Stronger Together Part One, the largest increase in disability services funding in the history of NSW and Ageing 2030 focusing on the changes that population ageing will bring to NSW.
Kristina has been the NSW Government Ambassador to the United States since 2007, promoting
New South Wales as ‘open for business’ to American investment – particularly in the areas of film & television and financial services.
Kristina became the 44th Premier of NSW in 4 December 2009. On her appointment as Premier,
Kristina outlined the priorities for her Government which include seeing through the economic recovery to support jobs and investment; building the best transport, education and health systems in Australia; and caring for the most vulnerable in the community.
