Heat brings in more patients

Due to increasing hot weather this past week, some of Shenzhen’s major hospitals have seen a 20 to 30  percent patients more.

Beijing University Shenzhen Hospital receives 12 patients suffering from heatstroke a day, on top of the patients suffering from diseases fills up their wards. Shenzhen People’s Hospital saw an increase of 20 percent of patients particularly children and the elderly all suffering from fever or heatstroke, they also display symtoms of dizziness and vomiting.

17 people were taken to hospitals by ambulance suffered heatstroke and 11 of them worked outdoors. The others suffer diarrhea and gastrointestinals diseases because they ate bad food caused by the high temperatures. Doctors suggests to take these measures such as wearing of sunglasses and hats, eating more fruit and vegetables, plus drinking plenty of fluids to prevent anyone from suffering heatstroke.
