GCT Sailing School: Hua Hin Regatta Join-in Sailing Event

GCT Sailing School: Hua Hin Regatta Join-in Sailing EventHello Sailors and Shipmates, here’s Gulf Charters Sailing School events schedule for JULY/AUGUST 2010 and beyond. We have some great yachting events and sailing opportunities coming up and hope you can join us.

The Gulf Charters Sailing School needs racing/cruising Crew!!! Join us for 3days/2nights as we cross the Gulf of Thailand for this historical sailing event. If you are ready for some sailing excitement and a pleasant social experience, sign up today and reserve your space onboard. Here is an outline of the Hua Hin event:

60 Miles for 60 Years
Commemorative Procession

This is a special event planned to commemorate the King sailing from Hua Hin to Sattahip 60 years ago.

On the 1st August, a yacht procession to Hua Hin has been organised by the Yacht Racing Association of Thailand (YRAT), will depart from 2 points. Sail boats and Motor boats will sail from Ocean Marina, and smaller boats including Lasers, OK class, 470’s and others will sail from Sattahip, joining together along the way. Shirts and certificates signed by the Prime Minister of Thailand will be given to those joining this special event. A opening function will be held on the evening of Saturday 31st July, and a closing party in Hua Hin is planned.

Keel boats with a current IRC certificate have been invited to join the Hua Hin Regatta following this event, from the 3rd to 8th August. Motor boats can take advantage of watching the regatta. Anchor off the beautiful Hua Hin beach while staying in the luxurious Asara Villas & Suites would be the ultimate treat. With Hua Hin less than 60 nautical miles from Ocean Marina, I would strongly recommend you join in this historic event.

The Gulf Charters Sailing School team will participate in the Ocean Marina to Hua Hin race (you will have to get up early for this one!), enjoy the festivities in Hua Hin, sail to Sattahip for a spectacular seafood dinner ashore and then cruise back up to our base at Ocean Marina making a few tropical island stops along the way. Sailors will be able to add around 200nm to their logbooks by the time we return to our slip at Ocean Marina.

Because of the early start time, crew members may arrive on the 31st and spend the night onboard in the Marina if needed. Here is our schedule:
