China renews Google license
Since last week the search engine have been in spat with the Chinese authoritites, making it difficult and kept the license renewal up in the air.
Thankfully Google Inc. was able to renew its license with Chinese authoritites thus making its presence in the biggest internet market. The renewal is a sign the the relationship between Google and China is improving, and Google have found a way to operate in China.
After its launch in 2006 Google enjoyed a constant growth in the Chinese market, and last January Google was no longer providing censored search results that started a war with the Chinese authorities. Google was redirecting all its traffic to Hong Kong where the system is different, but still retained some services such as translation ang maps.
Google already stop redirecting its traffic to Hong Kong , its was necceessary in order for the compant to renew its license and no news yet when Google will resume redirecting. Google have already updated its homepage offering three links to services in China. Googles license is valid up to the year 2012, but need to renew yearly or the Chinese goverment will shut it down.
