Guangzhou builds new arts arena
Like many cities, Guangzhou have hopes in lifting their cultural credits by building a new top notch performing arts arena. Giving new forms of live entertainment to its increasing middle-class and wealthy Chinese people.
These perfomring arts center now need performers, and its making western producers and promoters take a second look at the Chinese market, and found ways to build new audience and expand activities. But many artists and art professionals claims China is still young and audience for its arts are still small in numbers. Some states that those who are attending are still not acustomed in paying for tickets beacuse of state financed performances. According to the Ministry of Culture, the number of state-sponsored performances is declining, and currently they are looking for a private sponsor who can support both the foreign and domestic arts performers.
