World cancer congress to be held in Shenzhen
A “Shenzhen Declaration” is this year’s motto in the 2010 World Cancer Congress (WCC), which be held on August 18 to 21 at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center.
This motto is intended to update international standards in the battle against cancer. WCC is organized by the International Union Against Cancer and this is WCC first time in China and its expected to bring in 4,000 to 6,000 participants. The congress will also work in supporting implementation of the World Cancer Declaration, a global call to action that would help reverse the cancer epidemic by the year 2020.
These past three decades, incidents of cancer grew 3 to 5 percent annually and is becoming the No. 1 killer in the country. WCC is not a meeting of professionals and experts but a meeting for the whole society. WCC is an event that brings together the leaders in the fight to control cancer. The International Union Against Cancer (UICC) unites more than 300 member organizations in over 100 countries.
