Swimming pools to be inspected for proper hygiene
Shenzhen’s pools will be graded for its hygiene standards by the end of September.
Gradings will cover about 60 percent of all aspects which includes hygiene administration, ventilation and separation of the adults pool from the children. Swimming pools that garners scores of more than 90 points is considered to have excellent hygiene standards and given an A grading. Pools with 70-89 points is graded B while those having 60-69 will be graded C. Those pools with 60 points below will be given a certain period to rectify their problems and standards. 70 swimming pools have samples taken from them and only three pools were found out to have low hygienic standards.
Many people sought relief from the summer heat in pools but were concern about the hygienic standards, but authorities found out that some of the pools do have signs warning against infectious diseases none of the swimmers were actually examined. Some pools didn’t even have enough lifeguards.
A lot of families also didn’t have the proper swimwear in the venues, also the authorities saw people bringing food to the swimming pool adding hygiene problems. Residents are advised to shower and wash their feet before jumping into pools, and to choose pools with hygiene permits and hygienic facilities.
