Universiade games to be held in Shenzhen stadium
Given the theme “Tell the World” the 2011 Universiade committe invites college students all around the world to submit their pictures or videos with their smiling faces or greetings to mark the countdown to the Games.
The celebration will be held in Shenzhen Stadium in the Futian District, with an estimated 30,000 people in attendance, which includes goverment officials and foriegn diplomats. The Universiade medal and torch designs will be unveiled during the celebrations, wihch expects feature performances from top artists such as Jay Chou.
250 U.S. teachers, students and their parents are also in town to attend the 2010 China-U.S. Cultural and Art Exchange Festival, and some of them have already sign to welcome Universiade at the Citizen’s Center by painting greetings on the walls. In other preparations, eight translation services providers were selected to provide interpretations and word translations during the games, among the providers is Guangdong University of Foreign Studies the only university included.
1,000 tour buses will be on ready for transport during the games, according to the transportation department, and traffic control measures will researched before the Games will happen.
