Beach goers are charged with admission fees
More and more Shenzhen residents are flocking to beaches during summer months, they face only with one problem. They have to pay an admission fee.
With Dameisha Beach controlling the number of people going in the beach, more residents are opting for beaches owned by private companies, only thing is that they charge admission and don’t have the city’s permission to do so.
One beach goer complained that he and 4 other companions had to pay around 600 yuan on admission fees, parking, and lunch. They were also charged for toilets and shower rooms.
Free beaches are lesser in these past years, and free beaches before now charges 10 to 15 yuan per person and these beaches are being runned by the local communities.
Hotels that have beachfront that were open to the public are now exclusively for guest use. The city pricing bureau said that beaches that collects fees must have signs coming from the bureau, without this sign collecting fees are deemed illegal.
