Heavy rain contributed to station's collapse

Bao’an Zhong Xin Station or better known as the Metro Pit collapsed yesterday morning, sinking two working sheds and a car.

Witnesses heard an earthquake like sound during the collapse, waking the sleeping workers in the sheds and  making them rush out in panic, police and fire fighters were at the scene to see if anyone was in danger, luckily no one was hurt.

The company responsible for the construction reported the collapse cover at least an area of 900 square meters. Investigation discovered that a supporting frame gave way beneath the ground due to the recent heavy rains.
