New traffic rules have drivers and jaywalkers scampering.

With Huaqiangbei having the worst traffic conditions traffic police started to arrest jaywalkers, motorcycle riders, and bicycle riders as well. One rider was fined for crossing a red light making the motorcycle rider to be charged under the new traffic scheme. Also in more stricter rules,  offenders can be ordered to supervise traffic in intersections.

Those charged with small fines can choose to work off their fine by doing pedestrian traffic for one hour if they choose not to pay. People charged with much higher fines can choose to work for two hours up to four hours depending on the gravity of their offense.

Since the implementation of the new rules 13 offenders were already caught, 8 chose to help direct pedestrian traffic while the other 5 payed their fines .
