Premier League 2010/2011 starting this weekend
After a crazy summer of world cup football, the best most exciting league is back in action this weekend. Will Chelsea be able to defend their title or will it be Manchester United this season?
The other contenders will be Arsenal as usual and Liverpool,Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur.
Chelsea: Although they haven’t bought too many new players, this tactic by Ancelotti might prove their biggest plus for their season.Last year champions showed the world they have plenty of class to score and win matches with the players they already have in their squad.
Essien is back after injury, and they managed to offload Ballack.Upfront they still have Drogba and Anelka and towards the end of last season you could see Kalou and Malouda back in form, if defense can be as solid as last 4 years, then Chelsea might be able to retain their title.
Manchester United will be looking forward to win back the title that they see as their own.
They bought two new forwards and especially Mexican Hernandez looks like an exciting new player to watch.
Rooney in form will always be dangerous and Nani after some rest in the summer will also be in good shape.
With Vidic signing on and Van de SAr extending his contract,it looks like Ferguson has his defense all ready for a new season. The only problem Manu might have is in midfield.
Arsenal again has not spend too much money on the transfer market, but that was to be expected. With some new talents on the rise again,it means that Wenger is gambling on his youth players to do the trick. On the plus is that Captain Fabregas has decided to stay.
One new signing that might have a big impact is Chamakh.
The only thing Arsenal seems to need to win the title is a keeper and a defense they can count on.
If Kosnielcy and Vermaelen can make a strong partnership in defense they might have a shot at the title.
WIth Fabregas/Van Persie leading the front line, Arsenal will always bring the best football if they play up to their standard.
The other outsiders will fight it out for fourth place. Liverpool seems more busy whether they will be bought by Chinese owners or not and i cant seem them do to well.
Tottenham Hotspur will try and do better then last year, although the extra games in the Champions League might bite them back in the ass I think.
A promising young team under guidance of Redknapp, I will be surprised if they can improve on last years result.
Manchester City has still got all the money and keeps buying new players. As long Mancini will be able to get all these new players to gell, well then it would be stupid to underestimate City. They sure have the players now,so for me they would be outsider but i could see them do well after 8 weeks or so.
First game of the season will be the one that decided who could get the last spot in the Champions League last season:
Tottenham v Manchester City 1945 pm
and Sunday will be:
Liverpool v Arsenal 11 pm
Let’s all go out in Shekou and watch the Premier League to be back in action.
