Wine 101: Wine History

This is the first of my Wine 101 education pages. please enjoy and I hope you can give me some feedback over the next few weeks or so. (Info collect from sources including wikipedia)

Wine History:

5000BC: The first recorded history of wine in Middle Asia,   Caspian Sea and Mesopotamia.

2500BC: The first recorded history of wine in Ancient Egypt.

1600BC: The first recorded history of wine in Ancient Greece.

1000BC: The Roman Empire adopted wine for use with their senior officials and soldiers.

400BC – 100AD: Wine entered into The European areas of Gaul (France),   Spain,   Germany and Austria.

1400 – 1600: Wine lands in South Africa, Mexico and Argentina.

1769: Wine arrives in California USA.

1788: Wine comes to Australia with the First Fleet.
