A call to prioritize China’s cultural system reform
In a bid to achieve “greater socialist cultural prosperity”, Senior Chinese leader Li Changchun has called for more efforts to push forward the reform of the nation’s cultural system.
During the two-day work conference held in Qingdao on Friday and Saturday, Li urged authorities to promote innovation while deepening reforms in key sectors of the cultural industry, and to step up efforts to build a public service network to provide cultural services.
Li, a member of the Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee Political Bureau, also said that efforts should be made to accelerate the country’s cultural development and provide guidance for the production of cultural products to meet the needs of the public.
Li enjoined CPC committees and governments at all levels to put the cultural system reform high on their agendas.
