Wine 101: what are Fermented and Distilled Alcoholic Beverages

Fermented Alcoholic Beverages:
During any fermentation process to produce alcoholic beverages, yeast converts sugar into alcohol and Co2.
Grape Wines and Ciders are fruit based alcoholic beverages. Beer, Sake, Soju and Bai Jiu are all grain or vegetable based Alcoholic beverages.
Distilled Alcoholic Beverage:
It is recorded that Mesopotamia first distilled alcohol in 3500BC, it was used for making perfume.
Distillation is the process of Separating liquids by evaporation.
Spirits are Distilled drinks produced by concentrating the alcohol present in a fermented liquid.
Liquors are Sweetened or flavored spirits.
Whisky, Vodka, Rum, Tequila and Brandy are all distilled alcoholic beverages. Cognac is a brandy produced exclusively in the Cognac region in France.
