Roads and bus terminals to be built to improve traffic conditions
Shenzhen is planning to renovate almost 51 roads and to build temporary bus terminals to improve the traffic conditions in Buji and Longgang district. The project is said to cost around 80 million yuan the city transport commission reported and estimated the work will be finished by February of next year.
Traffic in Buji district have turn to worse in the past two years because of the ongoing construction work on the metro line 5, plus the road works on Shenhui road and Danping expressway. Congestion in this area was notorious and was criticized when 10,000 commuters were forced to get buses and walk when the traffic caused a grid lock near Rongchao housing estates. Traffic commission plans to build 20 bus terminals and fixe 23 existing roads in this district.
The commision also plans to seek public opinion on the their plans to speed up the construction of the 7.5 kilometer Banyin Boulevard that will connect Nigang flyover to the Beihuan road and the Nanping flyover to the Banzuegang Boulevard. Express buses will be routed in these road to form a quick transit between Huaqiangbei and Bantian area.
