To relieve transport problems in the areas of Langgang and Bao’an, 48 bus routes are planned to open by the end of the year.

A survey conducted in the villages, schools, enterprises and neighborhoods resulted into over 8,000 suggestions of which areas need traffic to be bettered the soonest time possible.

Municipal transport commission said new bus routes will increase the coverage of bus stops within 500 meters to a significantly 76 percent.

The new bus routes will cover a distance of 725 kilometers including nine routes for express buses, six trunk routes and 33 short-trip branch bus routes.

There are 30 areas where routes are intended to solve traffic problems and this includes Nanshan Central Business District, OCT East, BYD Industrial Zone, Longgang Grand Industrial Zone and a number of remote villages and communities in Bao’an District and Guangming and Pingshan new zones.

Residents and other stakeholders can have their suggestions given by Nov. 3. They can call at 8322-8000, fax at 8322-8111 or send e-mails to zjs_800@163.com where they can reach the Shenzhen Comprehensive Transport Design and Research Institute.

For further details about the routes, residents can also log on to http://www.sztb.gov.cn, the commission’s official web site.
