The Commissioner General of Australia, Shanghai World Expo 2010, Ms. Lyndall Sachs, hosted the dinner to discuss what makes Australian businesses successful in China and how AustCham Shanghai and other organizations can support businesses to maximize their potential. The Chair of AustCham Shanghai, Mr. David Keir was the guest of honor at the Australian pavilion.

Chair David Keir presented statistics on Australian business in China and discussed some of the challenges and success factors for small and large Australian companies. Discussions concluded that Australian businesses and executives in the financial, architecture, automotive and food and beverage sectors are leading the way in sound commercial processes and innovation in China.

A mix of people from different industries and companies including ANZ, CBA, GM, Hooker Cockram, Angliss Consulting and Golder Associates contributed to the discussion. The roundtable was followed by the first ever “behind the scenes” tour of the pavilion to view the technology and engineering deployed to drive the spectacular audio visual display.
