Shenzhen, Huizhuo and Dongguan combine for consumer rights
Shenzhen, Huizhou and Dongguan consumers can file complains for the goods and commercial services they avail within the three cities, based on a cooperation agreement signed by the three parties in Shenzhen yesterday.
Transfer of consumers’ documents, such as vouchers and contracts to the city where the dispute started, shall be facilitated by the Consumer councils, the organization dealing with complaints.
In case of complains, a system of consultation and meeting will be set to facilitate necessary communications and to ensure protection of consumer rights. Regular conferences shall be held by the staff of different consumer council to thoroughly discuss consumer disputes leading to solutions and integration.
Liu Fei, secretary general of the Shenzhen Consumer Council, told the conference that the scope of the three cities’ cooperation is broad. He exactly said, “On the cooperative platform, we can send warnings to consumers in the three cities. We will also conduct comparative experiments on products and develop consumer investigations to strengthen the social supervision of products.”
Lui also said consumer committees will compile a consumer guide. The guide will tell which business categories get to participate in the agreement of the three cities. There will be 15 categories included and some of which are the real estate, mobile phones, electrical appliances, express delivery, house improvement products and food businesses.
