President Hu Jintao toured local communities and businesses in Shenzhen
During the 30th anniversary celebration of Special Economic Zone, President Hu Jintao spent his three day tour of Shenzhen visiting local communities and businesses. He met with local residents in the Yumincun estates, and saw how the fishing village turned into a modern urban community in 30 years.
The community changes showed how reform and opening up policy can greatly develop a community for economic prosperity and improving people’s lives. President Hu Jintao also visited the Daya Bay Nuclear Power Station, were he examined diagrams, models and objects at the power station in which 85 percent of its equipment were made in China.
Hu Jintao also visited Tencent Inc. one of the largest internet portal in China were he saw that the company staff composed of workers having an average age of 27 years and have college degrees, leading him to encourage them to innovate and to contribute to the nation’s internet industry. Hu Jintao also learned of the technological advances in the high tech areas that car maker BYD and telecommunications makers Huawei and ZTE made in the recent years.
