AustCham Shanghai is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced professionals with events management experience. The events team coordinates all aspects of management for AustCham Shanghai’s events (e.g. liaison with membership, venues, speakers, other Chamber and special interest groups) and assists with promotion to membership and the general public.

General requirements
* Strategic events planning and program delivery experience
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* Strong writing and communications skills
* Relationship management experience
* Sponsorship acquisition experience will be beneficial
* Flexible working hours including regular early morning, evening and weekend events as required
* Bilingual English/Chinese language skills will be very highly regarded

The events program
AustCham Shanghai’s events team currently delivers 150 events a year, providing the employees of its 300 member companies with the opportunity to make valuable business contacts, and receive important Australian and Chinese government updates, pre-market information, insights and intelligence about their industries. Events in 2010 have included: addresses by numerous Australian Federal Ministers, State Premiers and Chief Ministers, the chief economists from four of Australia’s biggest banks, Westpac’s CEO Gail Kelly, and Australian food extraordinaire Stephanie Alexander.

In addition to our more business-focused events, we provide our members with networking opportunities at our weekly Aussie Drinks, Annual Corporate Golf Day, Australia Day Family Barbecue and Great Australian Ball events. In November 2010, AustCham Shanghai will host the prestigious Australia China Business Awards for the first time in association with AustChams Beijing, Hong Kong and Macau.
