According to new rules announced by the volunteer congress, the minimum age for registering with the Shenzhen Volunteer Association has been lowered from 14 to 10. Lowering the minimum age will allow more young students to become volunteers.

Shenzhen residents are very passionate about voluntary service. Over the past years a lot of parents wanted to allow their children to volunteer. Studies shown that young students in Shenzhen are more mature in their social skills and are capable of volunteering.

For the next five years the association will be creating more activities for volunteers and also to provide training to enhance the volunteers’ legal awareness.
