China could soon be hit hard by superbugsA medical specialist sat that a drug resistant bacteria is fast becoming a global issue and China will have to consider it as a serious problem on the misuse of antibiotics. A director of the Guangzhou disease research center said antibiotics should not be used to treat colds.

People who need antibiotics only accounts to 20 percent, doctors prescribe antibiotics to those having flu, colds, and viral infections, contribution to the emergence of the drug resistant bacteria. People are unaware that antibiotics were ineffective against viruses, including colds and influenza. Excessive use of antibiotics around the world is causing the bacteria to adopt and become immune to bacteria killing drugs.

Dubbed the superbug NDM-1 is fast becoming resistant to even the most strongest antibiotics known, this bug is thought to be the result of the overuse of antibiotics. 200 people around the world have already contracted the superbug and some already lost their lives.
