City landscapes to prepare for Universiade games
Shenzhen will be landscaping their eight major expressways in preparation for the Universiade Games. The landscaping project will cover the 183 kilometers of expressways that will include Guangshen, Nanguang, Jihe, Longda, Yanba, Shenyan and Qingping expressways.
Total cost for the landscaping project is estimated to be around 381 million yuan, this is part of the city’s commitment to have a green Universiade. The commission is also planning to plant around 800,000 trees along the city’s expressways.
A 10 kilometer section of the Guangshen expressway will undergo reforestation of an area of 570,000 square meters and landscaping of the 42 kilometer area of the Jihe expressway connecting the airport and He’ao Village. The landscaping will be done in four sections and will include terrain and environment. Main roads that will lead to Universiade venues will also undergo upgrading and rehabilitation.
