New regulations to combat illegal building construction
Officials and employees of the government are now warned, if they are caught turning a blind eye from the illegal buildings being put up they will be out of a job. Regardless if they have not taken bribes from the builders. This is according to a new regulation announced by the city anti illegal construction office.
The regulation detailed circumstances were government employees are held liable for illegal buildings apart from taking bribes for the illegal constructions. Under the new rule employees that dealt with illegal buildings are to hand over the offenders to the prosecutors office as soon as any illegal building is exposed. Its difficult to totally eradicate illegal buildings effectively, since officials and other employees are connected to local communities, they usually don’t take notice of the activities happening when they received some financial benefits from these builders.
These illegal builders are making big profits from the illegal buildings, and a number of anti illegal offices are under investigation because of this activities. Illegal buildings are becoming rampant in some districts in the recent years, when prices of property skyrocketed.
