Overseas Package Tours Peak as Two Holidays Approach
As two holidays are coming, the National Day holiday falling just eight days after September 22 Mid-Autumn Day, overseas package tours have become a popular choice for people in Shenzhen to spend the holidays.
According to Shenzhen Economic Daily, a significant increase in sales of overseas tours were observed by travel agents. Most of the bookings were for at least five days, perceived to be the chance for people to take a leave from work in the period between the two holidays.
In demand tour packages include the United States and Canada combined tours, 16-day and 10-day European tours, Japan and South Korea tours. Disney world in Tokyo and theme parks in Singapore were booked by families with children. Most of the tours have been sold out in early August, when prices then were comparatively lower.
There has been an increase in air fares and hotel rates, and international tour prices rose by 20 to 30 percent. Domestic tour prices also increased by up to 50 percent.
