New recreation area opens to residents and visitors
A section of Shenzhen Bay Park a coastal recreation area along Shenzhen bay opened its doors to the public to provide them a place to relax and celebrate the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival. The section is a 4 kilometer belt that connects Shenzhen Mangrove Reserve Park to the East and the mouth of the Shahe River.
The section is also divided into four landscaping projects which will include a sea view square and parks. Shenzhen Public Works Bureau announced that two roads are to be built along the coast to connect to the ecological park, these roads will be used the border police patrol and the other road is for residents and visitors. The completed belt will connect to different theme parks with bicycle lanes and walking lanes that were laid parallel with the pedestrian promenade and parking lots, and two public toilets were also erected.
The construction of the recreation belt started in 2008, and is divided to five sections which includes Shenzhen Bay Park, the coastal park of Shekou Peninsula. The project also includes 10 different theme parks that will be finished in August 2011.
