Tourists coming to Shenzhen to celebrate festival with family and friends
Even if it was raining in the city, Shenzhen saw a boom in Taiwanese tourists returning to attend family reunion during the Mid-Autumn Festival which starts today. Around 90,000 Taiwanese flew in from Taiwan between September 15 to 20 a 20 percent increase compared with the same period last year.
A Taiwanese citizen came in the airport with boxes of moon cakes and other specialties in his baggage, he says that is nice to see family and friends during the holidays its just to bad that we can’t see the moon because of the rain. Expats living in Shenzhen plans to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival and the National Holidays.
One expat living Futian, plans to have a nice dinner with his wife at home, another plans to go out to celebrate with his Chinese friends since his family is not with him and the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival is a day of family reunion. Nightclubs and restaurants in Shenzhen are holding Mid-Autumn Festival parties, so people can come in and have a big meal together and have fun.
