100,000 graduates showed up for the city’s job fair
500 companies recently advertised at least 20,000 job vacancies during the job fair held at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center. The job fair received 100,000 colleges graduates interested in getting jobs. The fair was organized by the city human resources and the social security administration.
Among the employers that participated in the job fair were Shenzhen post, Shenzhen Special Zone Daily, Bank of Communication, Huaxia Bank, China National Aviation and China Merchants Banks. 60 percent of the employers offered the graduates starting salaries of 2,000 yuan a month, 13 percent offered salaries at 3,000 to 3,999 yuan and 10 percent offered more than 4,000 a month. Shenzhen expects 38,000 graduates this year with 61 percent having bachelor’s degrees and 20 percent are holders of master’s degree.
The graduates came from ten top majors such as computer science and technology, mechanical design, electronic information engineering, accounting, software engineering, English, Communications engineering, automation, international trade, manufacturing and automation and business administration.
