AustCham Shanghai Offers a Yangshan Deep Water Port Tour

AustCham Shanghai Offers a Yangshan Deep Water Port Tour

Shanghai is now one of the world’s busiest harbours. The new RMB $16 billion Yangshan deep-water port on a reclaimed island in the East Sea, is designed to accommodate the world’s largest container ships. Yangshan is aiming to directly compete with Hong Kong and South Korea’s Busan as northern Asia’s main trans-shipment harbor by offering mooring at half the price. It currently handles 15 million 20-foot containers per annum and with these incentives is expanding rapidly.

The AustCham Shanghai Transport and Logistics Committee is pleased to present a tour of the Yangshan Port. This tour will include a visit to the Lingang Authority office, a drive over the 33 km Donghai bridge, and a tour of the port itself.
