Preventive measures implemented to control A/H1N1 virusShenzhen will implement preventive measures to control the spread of the A/H1N1 virus during the National Day holidays, the local center for disease control and prevention announced yesterday.

Tourist spots, stores parks and restaurants are required to provides hand washing stations for visitors to use and these stations must be disinfected regularly. Buses, trains, ferries and planes should be disinfected and temperature check are required in checkpoints. Chances of contracting respiratory infection is high during the holidays since many people are moving to and from the city. Residents are suggested to take special care to protect themselves when traveling. Children and people who are suffering from any chronic disease must avoid activities than involves a large group of people.

Schools are no longer required to suspend classes if only a few students are found to have the A/H1N1, the sick students are to be sent home for a week. Health checks in the morning and noon will still be implemented in schools, especially after the holidays.
