Shenzhen enjoyed 3.5 billion yuan in revenues during the holidays
During the eight day National Day holidays, Shenzhen was able to earn 3.5 billion yuan in tourism revenues, 19 percent higher than last year’s revenues. Shenzhen also had around 4 million tourists and visitors in the city during the holidays.
90 travel agencies reported booking 97,700 domestic and foreign tourists, and organized outside travel for 13,000 residents. The city’s major tourists spots also received around 4.6 million visitors. The four biggest tourists spots handled by the OCT group had 611,000 tourists visiting the scenic sites and parks. The city government also organized cultural, sporting and tourism activities for its residents and tourists, in which they can enjoy and partake during the holidays.
The city holiday office conducted a survey among a thousand domestic and foreign tourists, which showed 0.4 percent were not satisfied with the quality of tourism service the city offered during the holidays. Ten percent of domestic tourist were unhappy with the toilets found in tourist spots around the city and eight percent were not satisfied with the public transportation.
On the other hand retailers had a 16 percent increase in sales with promotions offered during the National Day holidays, the 5 major retailers was able to earn revenues of almost 632 million yuan in the eight day holiday, 17 percent higher from last year’s figures.
