Guangzhou tops survey as best business city
Guangzhou has long been a international business hub and has also been named as the best city for business in the Chinese mainland by Forbes Magazine. Guangzhou knocked Shanghai off the number one spot last year.
Rounding of the top ten business cities were Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Wuxi, Ningbo, Nangjing, Tianjin and Beijing. Guangzhou is an important destination for foreigners doing business in the early phases of economic reforms and has been associated with Hong Kong investments and multinationals. Also known as Canton or Kwangchow, is a sub-provincial city and the capital of the Guangdong province in the People’s Republic of China. The city has a population of 6 million, and an urban area population of roughly 11.85 million, making it the most populous city in the province and the third most populous metropolitan area in China. It is one of the five National Central Cities. Located in southern China on the Pearl River.
Guangzhou regularly ranks as one of China’s richest provinces and tops the list on the strength of its competitiveness in passenger and freight transportation, since Guangzhou is also a key transportation hub and trading port.
