Sports Day at the Pit on Nov. 7, 2010

Sports Day at the Pit on Nov. 7The Shekou Sports and Social Club has been a focal point of local sports groups since its inception and the current Committee would like to strengthen our ties with sports groups in Shekou and greater Shenzhen. As a membership club, our facilities are always available as a meeting point for sports groups, as a place for getting together afterwards and also as a host for annual or special events.

As a show of support for Sports in Shenzhen, the Pit is sponsoring a free BBQ for members on Sunday, November 7, beginning at 4p.m. The Shekou Sports and Social Club would like to show our continued support of area sporting groups by giving the community a chance to learn more about area sports groups. We will promote the event throughout Shenzhen and we hope this will result in new regulars/members participating in your group as a result of the event.

Currently, the groups to be represented are as follows:

Chubby Riders

Shekou Hash House Harriers

Shekou Rugby and Futian Rugby

Green Jacket Golf

Shekou/Snake Pit Darts

Cricket (only possibly, as there has been no SCCC Cricket organized for some months)

The Sitting Hash

If you are aware of additional groups that should be represented please let me know and we would be glad to invite them.

We mainly want you to enjoy the event and we have only the following requests to make sure the event is a success:

Please arrange to have a few members of your group present at the event, 3-4 for example, who can wear a name badge (which we will give you). We only ask that your members be available to enjoy the event and ask questions of people interested in joining your group. We will prepare name badges for you in advance so you are easy to find.

Bring a banner which can be hung somewhere with your group name and any details you wish to include (such as your meeting place and time if you wish). The banners should be at least 1.5-2M long. A 2 meter long banner on PVC with grommets costs around 100RMB depending on the size. If you need any help with art or printing the banner let me know.

Please bring some sort of handout-it can be an A4 sheet of as simple as a business card which you can give to interested persons which includes your website (if applicable) and contact email and/or mobile numbers.

We will arrange an area for each group with a place to hang the banner and a table. Additionally, you may wish to show a slideshow on a laptop or electronic photo frame with pics from your group. We will supply the name badges for each group. Anything else you want to do to promote your group is at your discretion.

I ask that one representative write back to me, Ed Hoffman: edward@cpl-china.com to confirm your participation and that your group agrees to meet the minimum requests:

* Your group will be represented by at least 3-4 members on Sunday, Nov. 7, from 4p.m.-8p.m.

* You can bring or prepare a banner for your group.

* You will prepare a handout for the event.

For more information you may call me through my mobile # +138237-74701.
