City to offer hukou to approved migrant workers
City labor and social security authorities will offer hukou to approved migrant workers after receiving applications for permanent residence from almost 16,000 workers. The city administration will publish the number of migrant workers to be offered hukou on before November 8 and still the number of migrants receiving the hukou is still not finalized.
Workers on the list are required to check their personal credit reports at certain inquiry centers within five working days. Hukou quota allocated to companies and recruitment service centers on November 15 where workers apply. Approved applicants need to submit details of their original hukou required by the administration. Migrant workers are treated differently from the urban counterparts in terms of employment, education, health care and social security.
In the new rating system, certain aspects can help contribute to a worker’s rating such as educational backgrounds skill levels and voluntary activities.
