Demand for nursing homes rapidly increasingNursing homes for seniors and the elderly is running short, as society ages the number of beds in existing nursing homes are going fast as demand increases and facilities were limited.

According to the Ministry of Civil Affairs out of the 167 million senior citizen and elderly in China, 12 percent of them are aged 80 and above by the year 2009 and are not able to live by themselves or independently. Nursing homes for seniors are feeling the pressure as more and more seniors are starting to apply for a spot in nursing homes. So far public nursing homes are accepting low income seniors and seniors without families.

The government is encouraging the private sector to start accepting low income seniors and improve the quality of services provided in nursing homes. The government is also willing to provide financial assistance to seniors that are physically and mentally challenged if they are willing to be transferred to a nursing home to get better care.
