A Dance with Pen and Ink – Chinese Calligraphy
The Shenzhen Asian Cultural Society (SACS) is proudly sponsoring a Distinguished Speakers Series focusing on cultural and business topics in Asia. In the second in a series of four events, Master Calligrapher ZHENG QiXin, 郑启心 will give an overview of the history of Chinese Calligraphy, its various styles and famous historical calligraphers.
Zheng QiXin has been awarded the Special Subsidy for Expert by the State Council of PRC and is a certified Artistic Calligrapher by the Art Evaluating Committee of the Culture Ministry of PRC. He is a member of the Chinese Hard-tip Brush Calligraphy Association as will as the Artistic Association of Calligraphy and Painting in Shenzhen. Zheng is a retired Computer Professor and a graduate of Tsing-Hua University, Beijing.
The event will take place on Thursday, November 18thth at Thai Amarin Restaurant, Taizi Square in Shekou. Following the dinner and lecture participants will have the opportunity to try Chinese calligraphy themselves.
