Futian Government palns to improve lifestyle of its residents in 5 yearsThe Futian government will prioritize improving the quality of life of its residents as a part of its 12th five year program. The city ultimate goal is to improve people’s livelihood making them well and happy.

The preliminary plan states that the per capital disposable income of its residents is expected to reached 60,000 yuan in just five years, an annual increase of 9 percent getting a total GDP volume rise to 180 billion to 260 billion in the year 2015. The government is setting aside 70 percent of its budget to help improve quality of life. Measures will also be included to further improve quality of life such as public services, health care and culture. Ratio of doctors per 10,000 residents will increase from 38 to 45 in the span of five years. Books in public libraries will also increase to 2.2 million from the previous count of 1.86 million.

Residents can expect an easier life next year when the district government will set up an interactive service platform to serve the residents and enterprises. When residents need something repaired in their homes all they have to do is make a phone call to the service platform. The government is also building around 30 museums to cater to the spiritual and cultural needs of its people and 50 urban sculpture is also under consideration.
