Shenzhen residents travel to Hong Kong to get flu shots
A number of Shenzhen residents are going to Hong Kong to get flu vaccines in a belief that getting the flu shots can reduce chances of getting sick, and causes fewer side effects.
A Hong Kong doctor said that 30 percent of his clients are Shenzhen residents, and numbers are rising since more and more Shenzheners are visiting Hong Kong for vaccinations since the start of this month, which many consider as flu season. A doctor in Mong Kok said Hong Kong residents are reluctant in getting flu vaccines a big contrast with Shenzhen residents that are getting vaccines for safety reasons.
Flu vaccines in Hong Kong are of high quality that is why more Shenzhen residents are willing to travel to Hong Kong with their children just to take the vaccines. The vaccines sold in Hong Kong are imported that is why they are safer, plus it cheaper. The price of flu vaccine in Hong Kong is around HK$180 and vaccines sold in Shenzhen costs about 200 yuan.
