More Chinese students getting their education in U.S. institutions
China have already surpassed India as the country with the most students studying in U.S. colleges, with an increase of 30 percent of Chinese scholars in the 2009-2010 academic year. 127,000 Chinese students attended U.S. schools of higher learning, compromised 19 percent of international students in the United States.
India was the leading source of international students since the school year 2001-2002. India sent 104,000 students in the academic year 2009-2010 second only to China. Parents prefer sending their children to U.S. schools to get a higher education, they consider it as an investment since international companies based in China prefer to hire graduates coming from U.S. universities.
China have been sending students to study abroad for a long time and students return have done well in jobs. Making more parents aware of the value of a U.S. education in their children’s career. Since most Chinese families only have one child tuition at U.S. schools is not that expensive for families with lots of children.
Among the 25 countries that send children to the U.S. to study, China had the biggest increase, followed by Saudi Arabia.
