Earthquake in Shenzhen

An earthquate measuring around 2.8 on the richter scale was felt in  Nanshan and Bao’an districts of Shenzhen and Hong Kong. The quake struck just before 3pm (Beijing time).

The epicenter was at 22.5 degrees north latitude and 113.9 degrees east longitude, with a depth of about 23 kilometers, said Seismological Station of Guangdong.

There have been no casualties or serious damages reported.

  1. Feb 16, 2012, 02:35am I feel one new tremor in Shenzhen, I feel my bet move and noise from other furnitures.

  2. I was in my office and did not feel a thing, but some friends in Luohu said their offices where shaking.

    Supposed to be a few follow up tremors too.

  3. Erin did – she told me about it. The neighbour upstairs was moving furniture and the apartment began to shake a little. She was about to call management but then got a message on her phone: Did you feel the earthquake in Shekou?

  4. Wow did anyone feel it? I was in Hong Kong all day.
