Revised railway rules sparked online complaints
Newly revised railway regulations will take effect in the country today. Tickets purchased will be invalid if it will be used after the designated time printed on the ticket. This rules doesn’t apply to the high speed trains.
The current regulations allow the passengers that arrived late to exchange their tickets for a different train within two hours of departure time. The new rules requires passengers to arrange exchange procedures ahead of the departure time, those who have valid reasons for missing the train have to ask permission from the station master to change to another train within two hours of departure. These new rules then prompted numerous complaints online.
One passenger complained that in the in the new revised rules stations should also compensate all passengers if the train is running late. Also apart form the ticket exchange height limit for children half price have been revised from 1.2 meters to 1.5 meters from the previous 1.1 to 1.4 meters. The new rules also limit the high speed train passenger baggage to 20 kilograms and no bigger than 130 centimeters.
